Verify that the cylinder valve is marked CGA 326 and that the fitting is approved for the intended gas service.
Do not force mismatched cylinder connections. Stop installation if the threads do not engage correctly.
Do not apply PTFE tape or pipe sealant to the CGA cylinder-sealing surface. The CGA bullet nose seals by metal-to-metal contact.
Thread sealant may only be considered on the 1/4" NPT side when permitted by the regulator manufacturer and gas-service procedure.
